• DO NOT apply the Lonely Binary ESP32 Relay Shield to live home AC circuits. Unauthorized modifications or use on home AC circuits can be extremely hazardous.
• Legal Restriction: Modifications to live AC home circuits must only be performed by legally certified electricians. Non-compliance is not only dangerous but may also violate local electrical codes and regulations.

The Lonely Binary ESP32 Relay Shield offers versatile control of both AC and DC power circuits, expanding beyond the capabilities of our standard Mosfet ESP32 Shield, which is limited to DC control. This Relay Shield utilizes an electromechanical switch mechanism that allows the activation of high power circuits using a minimal control signal from a lower voltage circuit. Ideal for integration with microcontroller projects, particularly with the ESP32, it enables safe and efficient management of larger electrical loads that are unsuitable for standard electronic switches.

Key Features:

• Compatibility: Specifically designed for the ESP32 microcontroller.
• Control Interface: Uses ESP32 Digital IO pin 13 for straightforward relay operation. Setting this pin to high activates the relay, allowing current to flow, while setting it to low deactivates the relay, cutting off the current.
• Terminals:
  • NO (Normally Open): This terminal is initially disconnected when the relay is inactive. Upon energizing the relay, the NO terminal connects to the COM terminal, completing the circuit to enable current flow.
  • NC (Normally Closed): In its default state, this terminal is connected, creating a closed circuit with the COM terminal. Activating the relay opens this connection, thus interrupting the circuit and stopping current flow.
  • COM (Common): Serves as the central connection point in the relay, switching between the NO and NC terminals based on the relay's activation state.
