The USB Type-C and USB ports both provide power to the shield. However, you cannot use these ports to upload code. Instead, please use the Lonely Binary ESP32-CAM uploader specifically designed for this purpose. To prevent accidental simultaneous connection of both the USB Type-C and USB ports—which could damage the shield—you may remove resistor R11. This disables power from the USB Type-C port.
The shield includes a PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) thermistor for circuit protection. Alternatively, you can replace this with a fuse for similar protection. To do this, unsolder resistor R10 and solder a 1A fuse.
The built-in PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor is connected to pin 3, which is shared with the serial output. Thus, when the PIR sensor is in use, the serial communication is unavailable. If you need to use both functionalities, you can relocate the PIR sensor to a different pin. Simply remove resistor R9 located at the top left corner of the shield and rewire the PIR sensor to another pin of your choice.
