The Lonely Binary Multimedia ESP32 Shield is equipped with two mechanical keys, each protected by a clear crystal shield. Below this shield lies an RGB LED powered by the WS2812 IC, which allows each LED to be individually controlled using just a single digital pin. These LEDs, popularly known as NeoPixels, are renowned for their vivid colors and versatility.
Each key is configured with a pull-down connection, ensuring that pressing a key causes the corresponding digital IO pin to register high. This makes for reliable input detection crucial for interactive projects.
Additionally, the shield includes a rotary encoder—an essential component for translating the rotation of a shaft or axle into digital or analog codes.
